Ninebullets Radio – An Americana Music Podcast: Episode 12

Hello fellow quarantiners! Another week of endless repetition! Is anyone else struggling to remember to take a shower every day?

Anyhow. As promised, here is a new episode of Ninebullets Radio to add a little salt to your quarantine routine. In this episode we take a walk down my memory lane and trace my journey from being a little goth/industrial kid in fishnets and Doc’s to being a nerdy alt.country kid flying around the country to see bands that only draw 100 people on a good night. I hope y’all enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it. Next week I am gonna come with a “Music From My Father’s Record Collection” themed episode so get ready for some classic country and southern rock. Till then, let’s talk a walk down memory lane.

“May You Live In Interesting Times.” ~ Traditional Chinese Curse

Man. We are there aren’t we. I have brought my office home at this point and am pretty much only leaving the house to go to the grocery store on occasion to stare at empty shelves. We got new material from Caleb Caudle, American Aquarium, Larkin Poe, Hellbound Glory, The Masterons, and lots of others.

Stay safe out there kids and mind what the CDC is saying, ignore the orange chucklehead. stay socially distant and with any luck we’ll be back to business as normal sooner than later. Till then, I was thinking about making a weekly 1-hour show while we’re under quarantine/shelter-at-home status. Anyone have any interest in that?

Ninebullets Radio: Episode 10

Not a lot to say here. Since the last show I spent a week in the mountains snowboarding only to come home to a sick dog to complete the flying dropkick on my wallet.

The show has been bounced from Spotify permanently because they decided it was music distribution despite me not being able to play a musical instrument at all and this podcast being my only connection to the musical industry. Whatever. We shall forge on. I did add the site to Soundcloud in an effort to mitigate the damage.

Okay. Enough of me bitching. Got some new The White Buffalo, Ashley McBryde, Zach Bryan, Sadler Vaden, and lots of others. Give the show 2 hours and I guarantee you’re gonna walk away with a new band you wanna check out.

The state of Spotify and 9b Radio:

It just isn’t gonna happen it appears. They have dug their feet in and are saying it (the show) is a tool for musical distribution and that is not allowed in the Spotify for Podcasters portion of the service. They suggest I do through something like Distrokid or Tunecore but I think I would have to get licensing for every song I played on the show and that is time/cost prohibitive for what is essentially a vanity project. So. No more Spotify. The show can still be heard via the web site, Apple Podcasts, Google Music, and Stitcher. If there are any other places you can think of where I should list it let me know.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ninebullets Radio: Episode 09

Hey everyone. Ninebullets Radio coming in here in an obvious attempt to slide into your Superbowl pregame/party playlist.

We have some pretty awesome material in this episode. Brand new Possessed By Paul James, John Moreland, Isaac Hoskins, Nathaniel Ratliff, and a whole slew of others. The more I listen to that new Margot Price song the more I like it and I am utterly smitten with Marth Divine from Ashley McBryde. At 118 minutes this is the longest show since rebooting the whole thing but it seems that around 2 hours is gonna be the norm. I guess it’s muscle memory from have the live show on 88.5.

Ninebullets Radio: Episode 08

And we’re back! How is everyone doing? It’s been a while right? Hope everyone is having a good 2020 thus far. I rung the new year in watching Jason Isbell and Stevie Nicks for free here in Nashville. Not too shabby if I don’t say so myself.

Well. The official rules say my first show of the year has to be all songs from albums coming out in 2020 and who am I to defy their will? I put out a call on the internet for folks to send me some tracks and they responded in full. Some sent finished cuts some sent rough mixes. It’ll be fun to see how different those rough tracks sound once their albums actually hit the streets.

Anyhow, I am glad to get back to it and I am glad you’re back with me. Give the show a chance to invade your ears and then tell me what your favorite song on the episode is. Also, hit up the comments and tell me what album you’re most hyped for here in 2020.

Hello everyone and welcome to the final episode of 2019 for Ninebullets Radio. I wish I were gonna be able to get another episode in before 2020 but my travel schedule and with the Christmas holidays it just isn’t gonna be in the cards. With that said….

Man! 2019 was an awesome year for music wasn’t it? This episode clocks in at 2 hours and features some of my favorite songs from 2019. NINEBULLETS RADIO: EPISODE 06

Sliding in here in an unapologetic attempt to steal some of your music listening time over the extended Thanksgiving vacation time. Hell. If I had my druthers you’d play it loud and proud when the entire family has gathered but beggers can’t be choosers. It’s a good one though. I do a mini Thanksgiving “themed” set with EmiSunshine, Morgan Wade, and MAtt Woods. I also include brand new material from The Secret Sisters, Benjamin Tod, Jade Jackson, John Moreland, and Sadler Vaden (Jason Isbell’s guitarist).

So. Set aside 98 minutes and give it a listen then come back and tell me what your favorite song was. Other than that, have a great Thanksgiving. Eat. Drink. Be merry and remember, no matter how much their politics may differ from yours they are still family and that matters more.

See y’all in December!
