Ninebullets Radio – An Americana Music Podcast: Episode 18: The Search For The New Normalcy Edition:

Sorry I had to start this show the same way I ended the last show but what has really changed?

Anyone who thought I was gonna come out hard in the last show, pat myself on the back, and move on doesn’t know me. Truth is. Since the last show the police have fired an unknown amount of tear gas at peaceful protesters. Truth is, since my last show the police have killed 3 more unarmed black men shooting one in the back as he ran away from them. Truth is, since my last show 5 black men have been found hanging from trees.

In 20-fucking-20.

I want this show to get back to (open quote) normal (close quote) but I have no figured out what normal is yet but I think I am closer to it with this show than I was 3 months ago.

I am political as eff. If you know me, you know I have strong opinion on politics and that viewpoint is most definately gonna bleed into this podcast. Don’t like it? Leave.

Got some pretty killer stuff for y’all in this episode. Brand new material from Matt Woods, Justin Wells, Will Quinlan, Margo Price, Larkin Poe, Jamie Wyatt, Morgan Wade and Zach Bryan. Got a collection of requests and some more social commentary via music.

I hope y’all enjoy our, largely, return to the normal format.

OH! SEE THAT NEW GRAPHIC AT THE TOP OF THE THIS POST? I got koozies and stickers with that on them. Five dollars will get you pne of each and the money get repurposed into supporting bands trying to keep it together during these streaming times. All shipping and costs required to get them made are coming straight out of my pocket. 100% of the money collected is going to keeping bands and independent venues a float how ever meager my contribution is. Ninebullets Radio – An Americana Music Podcast: Episode 16: Ladies night edition

I have learned over the years of podcasting and radio that not every show will be fire. Most will be good. Some will be failures and some will just be monsters. I think this week’s show is a monster. I have been doing these weekly one hour shows in as much as an effort to break up my own boredom as anything else but I felt like this show deserved the full 9B Radio treatment. So we’re clocking in at 1 hour and 43 minutes of women killing it in the modern Americana scene. I had pulled the Dolly, the Loretta, the Emmylou’s and the Patsy’s but had to kill them because there are just too many women just beastmodeing this shit in 2020 to even fuck with legacy acts. Yes. I know I left a lot of mad talented women on the cutting room floor. It is not a statement to their talent. I love Lilly Hiatt just as much as you it was just the song I pulled never mixed well as it’s all about the flow in the end. Anyhow. I hope y’all think this show is as good as I do.

Man. We are there aren’t we. I have brought my office home at this point and am pretty much only leaving the house to go to the grocery store on occasion to stare at empty shelves. We got new material from Caleb Caudle, American Aquarium, Larkin Poe, Hellbound Glory, The Masterons, and lots of others.

Stay safe out there kids and mind what the CDC is saying, ignore the orange chucklehead. stay socially distant and with any luck we’ll be back to business as normal sooner than later. We’re Back! Ninebullets Radio: Episode 01

Look what the cat dragged in. God damnit I missed you nerds.

Man. No matter how hard I try I just can’t quit this ish. I’ll be honest. I am not sure anyone cares what I think is good music anymore but I guess we’re about to find out. Confessionals aside, man it is good to be back doing something to promote bands I love!

We’re coming in hot right out of the gate. Got that new Sturgill Simpson on tap. Ms. Eilen Jewell has put out a new album that does nothing to discredit her stellar catalog so you know we were gonna drop a song from that. Larkin Poe is keeping it delta and dirty. I have the often rumore but rarely heard new Will Quinlan song as well as a Whiskey Myers song that is, as the kids say, straight fire.

So. Do me a favor. Set an hour and a half aside and put your earholes on these songs. Who knows. Your next favorite band might be in there somewhere. If you enjoy the show please like, subscribe, do all that social media stuff and then, go old school and tell your friends about us.
