October is here! The days are getting cooler and shorter, the Lightning won the Stanley Cup and butternut squash soup is on the stove-top. All is good and the fact that I am actually going to go see a show for the first time since March next weekend suggests life, even if for just one last weekend this year, life will get even better.
Speaking off good, peep this playlist! We got that good shit all up and down this bitch. Elizabeth Cook has released one of the top 5 albums this year and These Days is easily one of my favorite songs of the year. We also got new material from Amanda Shires, Richard Inman, Low Cut Connie, Jon Snodgrass, Lucero, The Drive-By Truckers and so many others.
So. The as the days get shorter and cooler put this show on your speakers and spend 120 minutes finding so great new songs!
Sup nerds? Here we are. Another week on repeat. Coming at y’all this week with a new show that is way outta the 9b wheelhouse. Not gonna lie. Kind of afraid y’all are gonna hate it. There ain’t shit up in this show that is anywhere close to new. Anyhow, this week’s quarantine show is records from my parent’s record collection. I am not gonna lie. It just isn’t gonna happen it appears. They have dug their feet in and are saying it (the show) is a tool for musical distribution and that is not allowed in the Spotify for Podcasters portion of the service. They suggest I do through something like Distrokid or Tunecore but I think I would have to get licensing for every song I played on the show and that is time/cost prohibitive for what is essentially a vanity project. So. No more Spotify. The show can still be heard via the web site, Apple Podcasts, Google Music, and Stitcher. If there are any other places you can think of where I should list it let me know.
I got these nifty little business cards in an effort to raise awareness about the show. If you have a merch table with 2 free square inches/a place to put some in public/envelopes you stuff with your own stuff that you’re willing to toss one in or any other idea for getting them into stranger’s hand email me your address and they’ll be in route.
Hoping to make the debut show of the 9bRadio reboot this weekend. Hope people still care enough to listen. There will be a show by Monday provided the Libsyn tutorial I downloaded explains how to get it onto 9bRadio.net. If it doesn’t; new show as soon as I figure all of that out.
Is is good to be back. I think I have a rad show for y’all.
