What better way to close out a year than to reflect back on the best songs from a decade ago?

While cleaning up my Spotify playlist recently I found one titled “ Best Of 2011” and that was the genesis of this show. I took it and whittled it down to my favorite 10 songs and present it to you now. Perhaps this will be a trip down memory lane for you or perhaps you’ll find something you never heard before. Either way, join me for an hour and we recall some of the cream of the crop from the 2011 underground (alt)country music scene.

Here is the playlist [Artist – Song (Album)]:

01. Fifth On The Floor – Distant Memory Lane (Dark & Bloody Ground)
02. Grayson Capps – Highway 42 (The Lost Cause Minstrels)
03. Chuck Ragan – Nomad By Fate (Covering Ground)
04. The Horrible Crows – Mary Ann (Elsie)
05. Hellbound Glory – Why Take The Pain (Old Highs and New Lows)
06. James Leg – Drowning In Fire (Solitary Pleasures)
07. The Builders and The Butchers – All Away (Dead Reckoning)
08. Lauderdale – Moving On (Moving On)
09. The Decemberists – Rox In The Box (The King Is Dead)
10. Matt Woods – Beating Down My Door (The Matt Woods Manifesto)
