It just isn’t gonna happen it appears. They have dug their feet in and are saying it (the show) is a tool for musical distribution and that is not allowed in the Spotify for Podcasters portion of the service. They suggest I do through something like Distrokid or Tunecore but I think I would have to get licensing for every song I played on the show and that is time/cost prohibitive for what is essentially a vanity project. So. No more Spotify. The show can still be heard via the web site, Apple Podcasts, Google Music, and Stitcher. If there are any other places you can think of where I should list it let me know.
Hey everyone. Ninebullets Radio coming in here in an obvious attempt to slide into your Superbowl pregame/party playlist.
We have some pretty awesome material in this episode. Brand new Possessed By Paul James, John Moreland, Isaac Hoskins, Nathaniel Ratliff, and a whole slew of others. The more I listen to that new Margot Price song the more I like it and I am utterly smitten with Marth Divine from Ashley McBryde. At 118 minutes this is the longest show since rebooting the whole thing but it seems that around 2 hours is gonna be the norm. I guess it’s muscle memory from have the live show on 88.5.
Anyhow. I hope you like this show as much as I do and please, tell a friend about it.
And we’re back! How is everyone doing? It’s been a while right? Hope everyone is having a good 2020 thus far. I rung the new year in watching Jason Isbell and Stevie Nicks for free here in Nashville. Not too shabby if I don’t say so myself.
Well. The official rules say my first show of the year has to be all songs from albums coming out in 2020 and who am I to defy their will? I put out a call on the internet for folks to send me some tracks and they responded in full. Some sent finished cuts some sent rough mixes. It’ll be fun to see how different those rough tracks sound once their albums actually hit the streets.
Anyhow, I am glad to get back to it and I am glad you’re back with me. Give the show a chance to invade your ears and then tell me what your favorite song on the episode is. Also, hit up the comments and tell me what album you’re most hyped for here in 2020.
Hello everyone and welcome to the final episode of 2019 for Ninebullets Radio. I wish I were gonna be able to get another episode in before 2020 but my travel schedule and with the Christmas holidays it just isn’t gonna be in the cards. With that said….
Man! 2019 was an awesome year for music wasn’t it? This episode clocks in at 2 hours and features some of my favorite songs from 2019. Sadly, the show could have been 4 hours long so it is needless to say that a lot of really great songs on the cutting room floor. Decisions were made and I hope you enjoy what I ended up with.
Everyone have a great Christmas and a safe New Year and I will see y’all in 2020.
Sliding in here in an unapologetic attempt to steal some of your music listening time over the extended Thanksgiving vacation time. Hell. If I had my druthers you’d play it loud and proud when the entire family has gathered but beggers can’t be choosers. It’s a good one though. I do a mini Thanksgiving “themed” set with EmiSunshine, Morgan Wade, and MAtt Woods. I also include brand new material from The Secret Sisters, Benjamin Tod, Jade Jackson, John Moreland, and Sadler Vaden (Jason Isbell’s guitarist).
So. Set aside 98 minutes and give it a listen then come back and tell me what your favorite song was. Other than that, have a great Thanksgiving. Eat. Drink. Be merry and remember, no matter how much their politics may differ from yours they are still family and that matters more.
Matt Woods debuted his video for the track Cold Civil War from his latest album, Natural Disasters, today and yours truly is in it. I play the character of “sports guy” so the stretch wasn’t too far for me.
I got these nifty little business cards in an effort to raise awareness about the show. If you have a merch table with 2 free square inches/a place to put some in public/envelopes you stuff with your own stuff that you’re willing to toss one in or any other idea for getting them into stranger’s hand email me your address and they’ll be in route.
Coming back at you with episode #5 of the Ninebullets Podcast. Have you listened to the other 4? Have you listened to the other 4? Have you told a friend about the show? If the answer to either of those is “no” then please make an effort to change that this month. Also, leave a comment telling me your favorite song in this episode. It would be rad to know I am not talking to nobody.
This episode has some fantastic stuff in it. You heard of EmiSunshine? If not, you’re in for one heck of a treat. There is also new material from The Heavy Horses, John Moreland, Morgan Wade, Austin Jenckes, Karen & The Sorrows and plenty of requests to keep your musical id satisfied. So set aside an hour and a half and put your ears in this.
I recorded and posted this podcast on October 19th. As is turns out. That is also the anniversary of the morning Chris Porter died in a tragic accident where his tour bus was hit at a standstill by a tractor trailer coming in hot at full speed. Chris was a buddy to a lot of us. Realizing that, I decided that I needed to open and close the show with songs from him. It’s been 3 years. It feels like longer and his voice is missed in this scene.
With that said….
Got that new ish from Morgan Wade, Tim Barry, Cody Jinks, Ian Noe, and plenty others (just scroll down to see) as well as some classics from Kathleen Edwards and Chuck Ragan. Come on! Get nerdy and give me one hundred and eleven minutes to try and turn you onto a new band…
